Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Perinatal), Service Line – Children’s Hospital – Aga Khan University Hospital

Job Description
The Service Line – Childrens Hospital is committed to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children. It imparts high quality undergraduate and postgraduate training as well. It consists of a group of dedicated full-time and part-time faculty. Besides the outpatient clinics, the inpatient set-up consists of 122 beds, including 24 beds NICU, 8 beds PICU, 4 beds CICU, 16 beds SCU and sub-specialty areas for Paediatric Neurology, Cardiology, Surgery etc. along with round the clock fully trained paediatric medical and nursing staff.

Responsibilities:
You will be expected to:
work as a resource person for patients and their families for the clinical issues and support consultants in their clinical care plan
coordinate and prioritize clinic appointments for patients and their families in coordination with the referring consultant
assist consultant geneticist in outpatient areas in conducting clinics and takes detailed family history
writes letters summarizing clinic genetic counseling / discussion with couples / families and send the letters to all the concerned physicians and consulting couples
coordinate for the timely needed follow-up appointments for couples with concerned consultants
participate actively in imparting patients / family education and support
coordinate with the consultants, internal and external labs for the logistic arrangements of antenatal diagnostic procedures including blood sampling, amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
maintains the data of the patients and participates in clinical and quality audits and research related to the prenatal genetic clinic
coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance quality of patient care
assess patient care and acuity trends, plan and manage unit and staffing with supplies, equipment and resources
demonstrate initiatives to review concepts of Quality Improvement in Nursing Practice (QINP).

Requirements:
You should have:
a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school with a valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
at least two years of relevant nursing experience
Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Safe Medication Administration, Aseptic Techniques, I/V Cannulation, Tools Training and Facilitation Course
excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication and people management skills
ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently
willingness to work in all three shifts (morning, evening and night).
