Job Description
Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Manager, Quality and Patient Safety, for its Secondary Hospitals.

Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to carry out the following responsibilities for the four Secondary Hospitals:
Plan and implement Quality and Patient Safety Programme in line with AKUHs policies and procedures.
Plan and manage effective compliance to quality and patient safety standards related to ISO 9001:2015 and JCIA
Plan and organize effective quality and patient safety internal and external audits as per schedule
Manage timely closure of all internal and external audit findings
Plan and deliver effective educational and training sessions on relevant aspects of quality and patient safety to the faculty and staff of hospitals
Analyze and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports on specific Data Sets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)related to different aspects of QPS programme
Prepare and share specified quality and patient safety reports with respective hospital administrators, hospital quality improvement & patient safety committees, hospitals operating teams and leadership in a timely manner
Manage patients complaint handling, incident/event reporting and risk management processes.
Periodically review and update Quality and Patient safety policies, procedures, pathways, and guidelines
Act as Quality & Patient Safety resource person for all the operating teams of secondary hospitals on relevant aspects of quality and patient safety.
Lead and supervise the four QPS coordinators of secondary hospitals on all QPS related aspects.

Requirements:
You must have:
A postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a related area, applicants with medical and nursing backgrounds preferred
An International professional certifications in quality management, healthcare quality & patient safety and risk management will be an added advantage
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience, including 2 o 3 years in a healthcare setting certified/accredited with ISO 9001 and JCIA standards
Strong leadership and management skills to influence and facilitate healthcare teams in changing existing day to day practices to the best evidence based practices
A skillset of a seasoned healthcare quality professional well versed with national and international industry trends and standards
Ability to deliver effective education and training sessions on various topics / aspects of quality, healthcare quality & patient safety, and various quality standards and frameworks
Ability to collect, organize, synthesize, compare and present various data sets in a meaningful way and familiarity with the use of technologies (information management, EHR and use of artificial intelligence) for data digitalization and automation
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Sound computer knowledge including MS Office
